Chapter 8

Excerpts from "Vested Interest"

Your Daily Activity
The Process

We're going to do this a little out of order, numerically, and here's why. I want you to see how to use the systems, tools, techniques, procedures and functions of network marketing by using the concepts of this chapter. Through my course of education in this business there were always references to you get someone interested by doing whatever the speaker was saying you should do. With that notion in mind I looked at my own life and realized the benefits I was getting from the business were directly proportional to my interest in being active in the business. As a matter of fact, when I began looking at this I noticed that whenever I got a benefit, either something tangible or a good feeling or whatever, and if I really liked the benefit, it seemed I would go into or continue the action that allowed me to get it.
In other words, it's the idea of winning; pleasure, economic

reward, eliminating pain and stress, even survival itself. The big realization in this area was seeing that, not only for me but for everyone, this is a phenomenon of life. People do the thing that bring them the benefits they want. This opened the door to very effective communication. The basis of this, or any other business for that matter, is benefits. The concept here is that benefits cause interest which, in itself, causes action. If the top of this network marketing structure is based on this idea, then the same basis must underlie the bottom. Therefore, the process is interest, benefits, action! Your job then, is to create interest by identifying benefits that are important to the person you're approaching, then plugging them into the system that helps them get those benefits. It's pretty simple stuff, if you understand how to use it.
