Excerpts from "Vested Interest"

Why Are You Doing This?

The Real Reason People get into network marketing for a lot of reasons and the vast majority of those reasons are based on emotions. We become network marketers so we can be our own boss, start our own business, get on the road to riches, get out of a job we hate or a career that bores us, provide a better life for our family, bring in some extra money, buy products at wholesale, travel, volunteer for community projects, have the time and money to do good in the world...in fact, there can be as many reasons as there are people who are in network marketing.

Take a look at that laundry list of reasons. The only way your business will make it possible for you to do, have or experience any of those things is if your business produces the resources to pay for those things. In this case we need to spell resources d-o-l-l-a-r-s. A business, any business, exists to make more money than it spends. If it doesn’t do that, it will die.

Let’s look for a moment at the role emotion plays in marketing, any kind of marketing. Most, if not all marketing hinges on sales which are based on emotions. People decide to buy things because of need or greed. Those are emotions. But consider the business that sells whatever someone’s buying.

The people who run that business have worked long and hard to make sure they can sell their products for more than it costs to make, store, ship and sell. In short, at a profit.

That’s what you must understand. The reason you are doing this is to make a profit. What makes this a challenge, particularly for the vast majority of networkers who have never done something like it, is this: the business and your emotion are linked. You can even think of them as dance partners, but the business has to lead!

We just can't get the information out to our people quick enough. It really helps paint the picture so that people can understand it. This is the best information we've ever run across.
