Treat It Like A Business - Getting Organized

When I began working with my current network marketing company, I was dead broke, eight months behind on my car payments, recently re-married and desperate for ideas on how to provide for our blended family.

Here's what I did. I put on the best suit I owned, made sure I looked as good as I could and walked out of the house with a smile on my face. Why?
Because I was working to build a business, so I treated it like a business. And not one person I talked to had any idea my personal circumstances were absolutely bleak. The people I talked to about business showed me the respect due a serious businessperson; they listened to what I said; they seriously evaluated the opportunity I was offering them, and enough of them joined me that 12 months later I’d gone from economic rock-bottom, to a six-figure annual income. What is a business? It is any activity that’s engaged in the creation or production of goods or services that are exchanged for money in an effort to provide for those you are involved with the business. How do you treat your activity like a business?

You do this by paying attention to the activities that, when put together, create the product and/or service that is to be exchanged for money in a way that brings in more than the business spends; in other words, at a profit. What do you need to know to treat your activity like a business? The list could be endless, however the key point here is the ingredients and how you mix them together so you can get what you want.

Testimonials

What it’s done is opened up our eyes to things we were not paying attention to. We weren’t looking at our Network Marketing business the same way we look at our other business, from the standpoint of seeing all the things you need to do to set it up. Now we can call our Network Marketing business a business. - Pauline Davis

I really see the value and importance of having a daily business plan. It keeps you working toward something on a daily basis. "Vested Interest" is something every new person should have in front of them. It's easily understood and puts everything right there. Anyone could take a look at it and get going. - Majorie McPhee
